With this homepage we would like to introduce one of the ten most beautiful islands of the world, according to the german magazin “Travel and Adventure”  (original name “Abenteuer & Reisen”).
We are travelling in the Caribbean for fifteen years now ( 30.12.2006) and landed on nearly every island, but none of them fascinated us as much as Dominica. Snobby villa, ”all-inclusive” hotels and “Dominican Republic” or “Ballermann tourism” (which is the same) are not available here (yet), thank God.
Also if you are only interested in getting tan, you are wrong on Dominica.
This island is a perfect place for those, who want to enjoy the unspoiled nature over and under the sea.
If you are also interested in meeting extremly friendly people and tasting the variety of local dishes, then Dominica is a must for you!!
This page is supposed to give you a little impression of the island and also some useful information for your vacation on Dominica.
One thing you should know  about visiting Dominica. Although the island is rather small, it takes quite a long time to cover even short distances because of the geological composition. Therefore it is important to find a hotel in a central location if you don`t want to spend your whole vacation in a car...( see hotels).
Also Dominica is not a typical caribbean island. If you are looking for white and sandy beaches you are in a wrong place!! 80% of the island is made up of steep coastlines. But Dominica will fascinate you by it`s fantastic nature and variety. We liked it best of all and we think that all these travelguides calling Mauritius, Seychelles or Tahiti “paradise on earth” haven`t got a clue what Dominica is like. AND you DON`T need to pay $500 per night like on Tahiti!
Dominica is a paradise which you are able to afford.
