If you are interested in Dominica´s history you should visit the Cabrits National Park. The small museum gives a summary of the turbulent history of the island and the restored ruins of Fort Shirley shows the lifestyle of english and french soldiers of the period. There are also some viewpoints (Bluff Point) from which you will have a breathtaking view to the Prince Ruppert Bay, Portsmouth, Douglas Bay and weather permitting, Guadeloupe and Marie Galante can be seen.
