The Milton Fall or Syndicate Fall (NOT Middleham Falls) is not the biggest but surely the most romantic
and beautiful waterfall of Dominica and NOT on the sightseeinglist of big cruising ships. That means no other tourists, so you can visit
it whenever you want. The best way to get there is to ask James (007, he is a guide at the Indian River) and he will lead you there through many plantations. On request he can tell you about the fruits and vegetables with the opportunity to taste some of them (don`t worry
, we survived!). If you are lucky, you can get some local recipes. Don`t forget your swimsuit and good shoes, swimming in/under the Milton
Fall is a “must”.
If you want to go without a guide, you need to drive to
Portsmouth and fork at the Point Ronde Estate (radio station) to the right (direction Morne Diablotin). The way is not easy to find . First you follow the asphalt road until it bends (double Z-form ). After you pass this curve, you take ( at the big mangotree) the
second road to the right. From there you only can drive with a 4WD. Just follow the track and keep left when it forks, then you will see a wooden house on the left-hand-side. Park here and walk through the plantations to the small stream and it will lead you to the waterfall ( yes, you need to go
through the water...).
In case you are lost you can ask workers on the plantations for the way.
