Going to the Victoria Falls you should visit Sari Sari Falls near La Plaine. Already the walk to these falls is a phantastic adventure as it leads through the rainforest. However the Sari Sari Falls are
difficult to find. Coming from the
north you turn right into the first asphalted road in the village La Plaine (there are just two possibilities) and drive all the way through untill you see on your right hand side a small wooden streetbar. There you will find local people who will guide you to the waterfalls against a small fee of 10 EC ( by the way, they don`t even ask for). Then the approximately 45 minutes long walk through the banana plantations
and then through the rainforest will start. The trail is very narrow and partly very steep and, pointing out the most important thing, it is VERY
slippery (well, you are in the rainforest …). You should be very carefull crossing the creek, because
the stones are extremely slippy. Also here you need a clothing and good shoes which can (and will) get wet. You will do yourself and your bones a big favor if you will walk through the
creek right from the beginning instead of
trying to keep your feet dry. There is NO mountain rescue on Dominica!!! We don`t want to scare you at all, this is just to let you know that it would be foolish to think that you can jump from stone to stone as easily as the Dominicans do. Choose the safe way through the water, don`t grudge the local people seeing you getting wet, laugh with them ,it`s fun!!!! Everything will be compensated by the amazing nature of the
rainforest, friendliness of the people and the relaxing cool refreshment in the beautyful Sari Sari Falls.
