There are another Sulphur Springs near Soufriere which appear completely different to those of Watten Waven. The sulphur springs of Soufriere consist of a great number of foxholes situated all over the territory belching out hot sulphur gas. You should draw nearer very carefully due to unexpected and very hot gas eruptions. Arround these holes beautyful, sun-reflecting sulphur crystals can be found.
However you should have a very unsentitive nose due to the terrible smell, but this little
inconvenience will be compensated by plenty of mango- and cashewnut-trees. Their big and ripe fruits invite one for a picknick, (
depending on a season, of course). Another kind of healthy refreshment you will find swimming right near the entrance in the pool with water containing a lot of sulphur. To reach The Sulphur Springs you just need to turn left directly after entering Soufriere and follow the road signs. You need a 4WD to get to the parking place, if you don`t have it you need to walk the last 200 meters.
IMPORTANT !!! At the end of the asphalted road there is a little bar on the right hand side where you can get your site passes, there is no possibility to buy them at the parking place !
